Description
The W3C and the Unicode Consortium say it: For operations such as searching and sorting, the soft hyphen should always be ignored.
To clarify, a search for “wordpress” should return both “WordPress
” and “Word­Press
”.
Personally, I extensively use the Soft Hyphen character (U+00AD, ­
) for posts written in German, unfortunately making the text unsearchable. It just looks better, even for non-justified alignment.
