Description

Someone just pasted this link to me in IRC:

http://www.rawstory.com/2015/10/alabama-to-stop-issuing-drivers-licenses-in-counties-with-75-black-registered-voters/

whereas a more accurate URL would be:

http://www.rawstory.com/2015/10/alabama-to-stop-issuing-drivers-licenses-in-counties-with-75-percent-black-registered-voters/

Give the propensity of people to skim read things online, this would be very useful.

Mark Jaquith wrote a nice plugin for that. Not sure if it's core-worthy though.

  • Component changed from General to Permalinks
  • Version trunk deleted

I think this is definitely worth looking at, and the plugin linked above is a good way to test the functionality and iterate on it. Maybe it could become a feature plugin.

The worry about a plugin vs core is that most sites would be unaware of the issue. Not sure how core would handle the i18n issue though.
