It isn't something that everyone will use, and it works fine as a plugin...
I think it's important because many times people collaborate ! And the plugin doesn't work !

Sorry Martin-FR, but you've been overridden by the man himself. Whatever Matt says goes for the most part. ;)
I agree with him though. An option very few people would use, so it's best handled by a plugin.

Martin-FR, please stop reopening this ticket. It's not something that's going to make it into the core.
As for the plugin, you'll have to talk to markjaquith about that.

But please do that !!! As SPIP does ! All the "big CMS" (Wordpress is one of them too) do that...but Wordpress doesn't....

And the plugin wanted to edit the template, but normally, Wordpress has to do that ! Thanks !

Martin-FR,
I have a plugin that allows you to have multiple authors, but you'll still need to edit the template (there's really no other way to do it).
If you're interested, drop me an email at if.website at gmail dot com, and I'll send it to you.

Once 2.0.6 and 2.1 are out, I might have time to look at my plugin and see if I can update it to work with the latest versions, but this isn't something that belongs in core WP.

Good for the plugin...but it willbe better if it was in core WP ! As SPIP, and other CMS/blogs !

Martin-FR the version and milestone values are non-sense b/c milestone should not be less than version.
WordPress is largely a meritocracy. The other people that have updated the bug have contributed a lot to the WordPress project, so appreciate their decisions and focus on demonstrating the merit of your own proposal. If debating a ticket be sure to present new convincing information either in terms of the problem or the possibly solutions.
Thank you for your participation in WordPress so far, and keep on WordPressing!

+1... this ticket has been closed time and time again (and reopened childishly by you time and time again). There are several comments suggesting plugins, and the main developer, matt, whom has final word, has already "wontfixed" this bug.

Hello,
but I don't understand :
- It's easy to incorporate in WP
- If it is a plugin which does that, the WP's user must modify the theme. It's a bad solution.
- ...the plugin doesn't work.

Ease of incorporation is pretty low on our list of criteria for incorporating a feature into WP core.
It could be done with a plugin without editing the template for simple views of multiple authors.
For complex views of multiple authors, the loop structure is most flexible, and that requires editing the theme.
I said I'd think about updating the plugin once 2.0.6 and 2.1 are out.

I offered above to send Martin-FR my multiple authors plugin, and I never heard from him. So he must not be too concerned about it.
It isn't something that everyone will use, and it works fine as a plugin...
