Description
Refer to forum post at https://wordpress.org/support/topic/allow-for-tab-key-to-select-visual-tab-or-html-tab-under-wp-adminpostphppost.
The idea would be to press and hold tab key while working in the editor to switch between visual and HTML type editor.

Actually, there is: move focus to the "Visual" or "Text" buttons and press Enter
Can you explain this better. I don't follow.
Thanks.

Just use the Tab key to navigate through the focusable elements and once you're on the "Visual" or "Text" buttons press Enter and the editor switches. If you're a Mac user, you might want to check your System Preferences and allow the Tab key to focus all the focusable elements.
Reading the forum post, I'm not sure I fully understand the issue.

Maybe you mean you would like the caret position to be in a consistent place (i.e. where you placed it) when switching editors? I think it's a bit hard to implement this but there are people who can answer far better than me. cc @azaozz @iseulde
I'm afraid there isn't, since the Tab key is needed to navigate through elements.
