#35763 closed feature request (wontfix)

Creating a Junior Administrator in the "User" area.

Description

I am considering hiring a Virtual Assistant and would like for them to have Administrator permissions without them being able to change the Admin passwords.

Is there a way to do this? My understanding of the users in WordPress is that if I give someone Admin privileges they can also change my password?

If this is the case, could Wordpress create a User feature called Junior Admin or JR Admin or just something that would give a user all privileges except the privilege to change passwords?

Hi and welcome to Trac,

By default, WordPress has the user roles it requires to do most tasks. In some cases though, where you find a need more fine grained control, a plugin is really the best approach (as there are so many different situations accounting for them all would be impossible).

You can find a list of plugins that will let you define new user groups and what they can do at https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=capability

Should you have any questions regarding the use of such plugins etc, we welcome you to use the support forums at https://wordpress.org/support, as Trac it self is only intended for bugs and enhancement discussions about the core software it self.
