Comments unchecked by default for New Page

–Comments are enabled in settings
–Comments appear as checked when creating a new post
–However! Comments are not checked when creating a new page

I assume they should be checked by default for new pages as well? Screenshots in links below. Reproduced on two installs with 4.4.2.

Thanks for creating a ticket and welcome to trac. This behaviour is by design and was introduced in WordPress 4.3. See #31168.

There's a plugin that restores previous behaviour: ​Allow Comments on Pages by Default.
