need help with various problems with WordPress 4.5

Please note I really appreciate the hard work everyone puts into WordPress.
Unfortunately, as as non-technical person for the first time since 2009, I've been unable to use the latest 4.5 update. I've tried to understand comments by others but I've been unable to do so.
Basically, there's a bug has disabled the Visual mode. In addition, even using the Text mode, 4.5 will not accept edits. Nor will it accept images.

Making a new topic for your self there will ensure that people can provide help with an approach that suits your level of experience as well.
Just to mention it, there is a 4.5.1 patch in the works which looks into some image related tickets and an editor one, it is possible you are affected by these (not easy to say without troubleshooting first) and that the patch will be just what you need (Details can be seen at https://make.wordpress.org/core/2016/04/22/4-5-1-release-candidate/)
