Reported by: ageibert's profile ageibert Owned by:

Description

Since 4.6 system fonts are used for the backend.
For mac this is

font-family: -apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,"Segoe UI",Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,"Helvetica Neue",sans-serif;

This font results in:

  • extremely blurry headlines
  • nearly not noticeable "<strong>" formatting

Blurry headlines are e.g. <h2>

Nearly not noticeable "<strong>" formatting can be seen on the plugins list, where you can't differentiate between active and deacativated plugins anymore.

Hey there,

Which browser on which operating system are you using and which versions of them?

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.9
Browser used: Google Chrome Version 53.0.2785.113 (64-bit)

In Firefox 48.0.2 it's a bit better, but still very blurry and hard to notice "strong" formattings.

For comparison, this is how the word "keine" looks like here, Macbook retina, OS X 10.11.6, Chrome 53.

I see: On a retina display the (headline) font renders crystal clear.

The emphasized (strong) word "keine" is also better readable. But it could be even better i think.

How do the active/deactivated Plugins look like on the retina display?

Maybe this topic is only a non retina problem.

Replying to ageibert:

Not sure, needs some screenshots from other non-retina to double check :) looks like in your screenshots the normal font weight is a bit "heavier", not sure why.
