SVG in Visual Editor - Default Attribute Issue

Reported by: grandmasterkenny's profile grandmasterkenny Owned by:
Milestone: Priority: normal
Severity: normal Version: 4.6.1
Component: TinyMCE Keywords: upstream
Focuses: Cc:

Description

When adding inline SVG images via the Media Library in the Visual Editor, the respective image gets a height & width of 1, to the unsuspecting user this could make them think the add failed however, simply removing the height & width attributes from the img tag in the Text Editor remedies the issue and the image displays properly in the visual editor.

Hi @grandmasterkenny, passing this upstream as that is the best place to fix it.

Seems to work properly in WP 5.2, was fixed upstream.

  • Resolution changed from fixed to worksforme

Just changing the resolution to worksforme for accuracy, as it's not quite clear when or where exactly this was fixed.
