Description

I have a url:
http://mysite.com/blog/
This URL however does not show the page with that slug, but rather shows the contents of
http://mysite.com/category/blog/

Changing the slug to /blog-en/ fixed it and the page is displayed.

  • Keywords changed from url, category to url category
  • Summary changed from /blog/ URL handled as /category/blog/ to /blog/ URL handled as /category/blog/ also page to post type convert

@internationils this is bug in WP. if you have post type slug like "portfolio" and if you have same name page called "portfolio".

if we try to call "portfolio" page http://www.siteurl.com/portfolio then it shows post type first so we can not see page "portfolio" any way. if we want to see "portfolio" page then we have to rename "portfolio" to "portfolio-1" then we see page. we know then WP take post type priority first then page but this need to resolve any way so user can see both post type and page with same slug name.

there is one solution for this WP need to add unique slug.

  • Component changed from General to Rewrite Rules
  • Focuses accessibility removed
  • Version 4.6.1 deleted

Removing the accessibility focus since we use it for issues related to universal access to Web content. The version field should be set to the WP version the bug was introduced first, or left empty when in doubt.

Hi @internationils,

I did some testing, and I think that everything is working as it should. My hunch is that the Blog page you described is also selected as the Posts Page in Settings > Reading. When this is the case, the page will not show the contents of that page. It will list all posts instead.

I am going to close this out as a worksforme. If you are still experiencing this issue, I recommend opening an issue on the WordPress.org support forums.
