Description

Usually a site has much more available widgets then sidebars. However at the moment the widgets are show in two columns and have a width of 38%, whereas the sidebars are shown in columns as well and have a width of 58%.

I suggest showing the available widgets in three columns with a width of 73% and the sidebars as one column width a width of 23%.

@nielslange thanks for the ticket and welcome to trac!

This is going to be very site-specific. I personally have worked on sites that have had more than 50 sidebars. A sidebar can also get very long once there are a number of widget instances added and stacking them in a single column might make managing them more difficult.

If we were to make a change here perhaps the solution is to add some columns options in the Screen Options for the widgets page.

I'm going tag this for the UI/UX folks to have a look and provide some feedback.
