    1 This 39451.diff patch is not present in latest version of WP 5.8. It does resolve this problem. Why isnt it fixed?

     3The patch in the widget replaces the themes before widget settings with a placeholder %s for the ID. This might be as the widget wanna use the category id instead of the link-nr instance. This is not neccessary, just keep the before widget as default, do nothing. Then its working in customizer.
