Description

Hi,

We should add target="_blank" for the meta widget sidebar RSS link and wordpress.org link. Because after click on these links user leaves the site.

Thanks

Citing #38680 (another ticket with the target-blank keyword):

About the front-end, personally I think WordPress shouldn't encourage the usage of target="_blank" so it shouldn't be included in the default output.

I tend to agree with that, especially since these links have always been like that and we're getting of target="_blank" in the admin as well.

However, the ongoing discussion has focused mainly on the admin screens so far, so there's the need to start taking into consideration what is the better option for the front-end too. Discussion can happen on this ticket or also on Slack, any feedback welcome.

+1.
