#40219 closed enhancement (wontfix)

Description

I do not restore widgets from Inactive Widgets (widget area), I just remove them all and Drag another 'new' one all the time, do you guys restore widgets? Not much settings can be stored in the widgets to be afraid of losing them. So if you lost a Calendar widget and Archive widget somehow (like removing a widget area) it is not big deal.
What are you thoughts?

Widgets can be arbitrarily complex. Many themes have very complicated widgets with non-trivial configurations. It is useful for being able to stash a widget for later reuse.

The inactive widgets area is required as well when switching themes, when widgets aren't able to be re-assigned to a sidebar.

Maybe this ticket will be a nice idea if my other idea is implemented so it will make sense then.
Ticket of my idea is: #40067
