I think it would be a nice, though small, feature to enable multisite right from the wordpress installation wizard.

The (very) long term goal is to make setting up and administering a Multisite installation of WordPress much easier, but currently the hurdles to enabling Multisite are intentionally high so that less technically savvy users don't find themselves stuck with a Multisite installation that they struggle to administer correctly.
