Can't copy and paste links in tinyMCE

Reported by: jorbin's profile jorbin Owned by: azaozz's profile azaozz
Milestone: 4.8 Priority: normal
Severity: major Version: 4.8
Component: TinyMCE Keywords:
Focuses: Cc:

Description

Using Chrome 57 on macOS, when I highlight a link in the visual editor and press cmd + z and then press cmd + v elsewhere, the text is copied, but the link is not copied.

If more text than just the link is copied, then it pastes correctly.

This is a regression from 4.7.

  • Component changed from Editor to TinyMCE

You mean ctrl+x/c right? Sounds like the new link boundaries are causing that, so it would be a regression in TinyMCE. cc @spocke.

We have a fix for this in review so it will be fixed in the upcoming 4.6.2 release next week.

@azaozz, are we past the point in the release cycle where we’d want to bump TinyMCE to 4.6.2?
Or do you think a single patch could resolve that one issue?

Replying to obenland:

No, not too late. Been waiting for 4.6.2, it has few bugfixes we need. Will update it in trunk asap.
