Description

#40702 is set to introduce a temporary hack for the 4.8.0 upgrade, in order to ​work around presenting users with an upgrade screen.

After 4.8.0 is released, it will no longer be needed and should be removed from trunk.

Could a gardener please ​move this to the 4.8.1 milestone, and mark it as a blocker?
