Description

Hello,

I have found something that seems to be a bug, but I am not sure. Either way, it is worth reporting, as it has to do with bulk editing of drafts in Wordpress.

The situation is like this: Assuming I have, say, 50 draft posts in the admin panel. They are ready to be published. But, they're in the wrong category.

So, to change categories, I bulk-select all of them, and when the bulk editing window opens, I select the needed category. Upon the update, Wordpress does not MOVE all the selected posts to my new category, instead it ADDS the posts to the new category.

So, what I have now is my 50 posts, assigned to both old and new categories. I again select bulk editing, and in the window I select ONLY the new category, hoping the posts would move there. The update doesn't do that - the posts are again in BOTH categories.

The problem, as it seems to me, is that even when only one category is selected, WP doesn't MOVE the posts to the desired category, instead ADDING the selected category to the existing one.

Since I am working with huge news archives and often move posts from one category to another, this is crucial to my work.

I believe a tweak or a fix here would've been really helpful, as this is the case when one just doesn't want to use additional plugins for a rather easy task.

I hope this report will be taken into consideration.

Thank you,
Regards, Tim
