    77I have tested locally for both successful and failed updates and it seems to work correctly.

     9I don't know if using an HTML class is the best way to solve this bug, maybe it can also be done using local storage, but i see that WordPress use many other class to do similar thing, like "active", "update" or "is-uninstallable".
