Menu Categories - Nesting Issues with large numbers of categories

Reported by: wilhud's profile wilhud Owned by:

Description

When loading a large amount of categories into the WordPress install and then visiting the menus section, the View All option nicely displays a nested list of categories. However, as you page through the list of categories, when you get to about page 3 or more of those categories, the nesting suddenly stops working and the items just fall to the end of the list in a long line of results. The hierarchy is broken after page 2 or 3.

This seems to also occur with other custom taxonomies that are added to the Menus as well (i.e. Product Categories from WooCommerce). This makes it difficult to find the categories needed to add to the menu, once you get past page 2 of the results.

The benefit of the View All results over the Search results tab is that you can see the hierarchy when you have sub-categories of the same name. View All helps distinguish between those similarly named subs.

Thanks!
Wil

Ok thank you @SergeyBiryukov. I used your plugin linked in #18282 to bypass the issue until it is better resolved.

Much appreciated,
