I went ahead and edited the ticket to reflect what you explained. Please let me know if I got anything wrong.

Can you please walk me through some use cases where you wouldn't want other sizes created?

Generally, WordPress leans towards fewer options rather than more (see ​Decisions not Options), so I'd love to understand more about why you think this one should be included.
