Duplicate event in Events and News dashboard widget

Description

The Events and News widget in the Dashboard shows an event twice.

I have checked from several wp.org websites and also when selecting two different nearby cities (Glasgow and Edinburgh).

The event is not duplicated in meetup.com

This issue has started happening recently, so I'm wondering whether it could be linked to the latest WP core update? The sites it has been tested on all run 4.9.2

I'm attaching a screengrab FYI.
