It's radically and intentionally different. I do not work for the WP Foundation and it is not my business to say whether the WP Foundation should comply with EU laws or not. Though, if the final decision is to not comply, or to comply with what the WP Foundation wishes the GDPR had been (rather than what it actually is), this will certainly cause a lot of problems (hopefully fixable by plugins, but requiring the community to specifically research/learn and implement this site-by-site would be bad). |
