#43567 closed enhancement (wontfix)

Add current blog ID in admin bar in multisite

Description

On multisite, it could be useful to read the blod ID in admin bar, maybe near the current blog title (see attachment).
I think it can be visible only to super admins.
At the moment, to know the blog ID you have to go always to "Sites" in network dashboard.

I'll let one of the multisite committers chime in here, but this seems like plugin territory to me.

I could maybe see adding some filters to the admin bar output to make it a little easier to adjust existing menu items without removing and replacing them entirely, but I don't think it should show the site ID by the default since it's easy to get from the network admin.

If you're interested in having that functionality, I threw together a quick plugin that does what you describe: https://github.com/earnjam/wp-site-id-in-admin-bar

Thanks for opening a ticket @eventualo.

I agree with @earnjam, this is good plugin material. I'm going to close this as a wontfix, but please check out the plugin above. :)
