Description
The default screen people see when they first visit the Posts, Pages, etc., dashboard sections is quite uninspiring.
Taking a cue from WooCommerce's default product screen (screenshot included), we can enhance the default Posts & Pages screens to make it a bit more welcoming to new users.

Given that the new Administration interface is behind the corner, probably will be coming in the next version in 2026 https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/53322
I think that this enhancement should be considered within the new interface.
The problem here is that I'm not 100% confident where these ideas could be posted, because all the redesign is being driven inside the Gutenberg repository, and there doesn't seem to be a place to post these kinds of things.

Below I have posted a screenshot of what the Posts page looks like as of Oct 31, 2025. For comparison, I have also posted below a screenshot I shared 8 years ago. The two screenshots are mostly indistinguishable!
8 years without any UI/UX updates to such a core component of WordPress is surprising. IMHO, WordPress needs to refocus attention on the user and the user's experience.
WordPress continues to make great technical updates and improvements. However, while not every user will ever need or use many of those improvements, nearly every user will use and interact with the Posts page.
One easy (and low-hanging fruit) would be to implement default empty states.
These two links I shared previously are still very relevant:

I have shared some empty state screenshots in this ticket for ideas and inspiration. I have attached another example below.
