Cannot upgrade to 4.9.6

Description

My host says I'm in 4.9.6, but my WP dashboard still says to update to 4.9.6. However, when I try, it simply says "Downloading updates fr--" and doesn't ever finish loading. If I try deactivating plugins, it says I don't have permission. If I try to edit the appearance of my blog, it gives me a 503 or something similar. If I try to upload media, I can't unless I use the manual uploader and upload one image at a time. I also cannot see my media in the Media tab. There are so many bugs at this point I don't even know what to do! Thanks so much for any help you can give me.

Welcome to Trac and thanks for the ticket!

I don't think your issue is related to WordPress core. From what you said above, it looks more like a problem with your hosting provider or server configuration. Permission issues are typically related to servers.

I would suggest you to contact your server support team for a solution. A large amount of WordPress sites have already been upgraded to 4.9.6 even I did it without any issue.

You are also advised to share your problem at https://wordpress.org/support/forum/wp-advanced/.

Please note, WordPress trac is for tracking WordPress core bugs. All server, contributed themes and contributed plugin issues are out of the scope of it.
