    3 Moving to a `data-src` based approach has very different implications from an integration, standards, performance, accessibility and SEO perspective - even with the hybrid approach. It has many more moving parts than adding support for a new attribute. Handling this is not impossible, but it's _much_ more nuanced.

    55I'd much rather we go launch with adding support for `loading=lazy`, and not change anything else; and that we 'pave the cowpath' by encouraging other browser vendors to catch up.
