#45054 new enhancement

Widget deletion: Add an "Are you sure you want to delete?" popup before it gets deleted

Description

For the widgets the "Delete" and "Done" buttons are close to each other, and if you accidentally click Delete, there is no obvious option to restore the widget. Not great if you have added lots of html code... I would have liked to see here a "Are you sure you want to delete this widget?".

We think it's a very good proposal, from the UX design, will help the user to avoid possible errors.
To contribute with your proposal, we attach an image that we have created to help to see how it would look like.

Hi @Vibeque, Welcome to WordPress Trac! Thank you for your ticket and good idea to add jQuery alert popup.

@marketingwebbing, No need to add any popup jquery or design we can use jQery alert popup with attached image and wait for ux team feedback.

I am just swapping the keyword to 'needs design feedback', which is being used now for design feedback.

Any word on next steps for this? Just deleted an important widget without warning today and was surprised to see this stagnant.

Ticket was reviewed in design meeting today and we believe that the concept is good. From both the screenshots presented, the wording needs some work as labels should be as specific as possible (where possible).

below is our proposal
