Backdating Already Published Post Broken

Description

I found that backdating a post from the edit post page in the admin panel that has already been published does not change the publish date for that post when viewing it on the single post page on the public-facing website. However, if I go back and change the post date using the quick-edit feature on the posts page in the admin panel, the correct date is then shown on the single post page when viewed on the public-facing website.

Hello @pcpro178 and welcome to Trac!

When going back to the quick edit, what is the current date, the original or the backdated one?

Which theme are you using?

@knutsp Originally the quick edit showed the original post date. After changing the date, quick edit shows the new, backdated date. I'm using the Divi them. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to change the site's theme for testing. I just did a quick test on my other site that uses the same theme, and it did not exhibit the problem. If you're not able to easily reproduce the problem feel free to close the ticket.

  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

Please, if possible later, get back here and reopen this, with detailed steps to reproduce this problem, using a default theme and no active plugins.

Closing for now, as this doesn't seem to be a WordPress bug.
