Description
This problem was reported by a client a few weeks ago, we've tried to replicate it in other websites with similar situations but have been unable to.
The problem presents itself as follows: Client has multiple revisions of an ordinary post, makes a mistake, goes to revision overview page. When choosing a specific revision, it's showing the correct adjustments. When choosing "Place back revision", it will then place back a completely different post.
There are approx 2000 posts in use, nothing major in itself.
Bug, configuration issue or a plugin? Where should we look? I have cloned the site to test it on a different server, and am able to replicate the issue in this installation too, so nothing server-related should be going on.

Hi @theemstra, welcome to WordPress Trac! Thanks for the report.
Does the issue still happen with all plugins disabled and a default theme (Twenty Seventeen) activated?
Hi @SergeyBiryukov,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, after your comment, we have replicated the website in our staging area and disabled all plugins and the default theme. We came to the (shocking) conclusion the problem lies in the kriesi enfold theme. We'll be contacting them.
