Description
Can you add new widgets to the appearance section.
For example the one widget that I would love to have is a Birthdays Widget where on the registration page for a user you can add the date of birth and then it displays a birthday greeting on the side of your website when the users birthday hits. I know that there are plugins that allow you to do this but they were all updated years ago and will break many things for this feature.

I reached out to the plugin editor half a year ago and he responded that he would not do it because he is know working for a company in greece. I think that it should be made core because it is a feature within the signup process of a wordpress form and you should be able to display that to people who access you site who signed up with the said wordpress form.

No plugins are available at this moment that can do this except for the one that was last updated 3 years ago.

@jacobsidelnikov I appreciate your need for this widget, however as I stated before, this is a customized use-case and while it's certainly valid for your needs, it's not something that has a wide enough need to warrant a new widget that ships with WordPress core.
In addition, one of the 9 priorities for 2019 ( https://make.wordpress.org/core/2018/12/08/9-priorities-for-2019/ ) is to move the existing Widgets into blocks and revamp the widgets experience using Gutenberg. Given that direction, introducing a new widget is not something that makes sense at this point.
Hi, @jacobsidelnikov! Welcome and thank you for the ticket and interest in contributing to WordPress core!
This is kind of custom widget is better suited as a plugin. If you are using one now that needs updating, I would encourage you to reach out to the plugin author to have it updated.
