Extra spaces added when pasting large chunks of text into blocks

Description

It seems that whenever I paste large chunks of text into a block (e.g. when cross-posting a blog post from one website to another), a load of extra spaces get added!

Why?

It takes ages to go through the text removing the unwanted additional spaces.

Please fix!

Hi @jdaviescoates, thanks for creating a ticket. Gutenberg/Block editor tickets are managed over on Github, here's a link to the repo:
