Update issue for Mac desktop app

Okay, so support suggested I post this here so that, maybe, someone could fix the update problem on Mac.

I really hate the WP app for Mac. The Update and Restart has never worked, and trying to find the update on the website is harder than kissing a porcupine. Why do you make things so difficult? Why not provide a link directly to the update download, fix the update procedure to work like every other non-AppStore app in the world, or provide the app through the AppStore?

I believe you're speaking on the WordPress.com Desktop App found here;

This app isn't supported by the WordPress.org community as it's a WordPress.com app supported by the Automattic team. This Trac is specifically for the development of the WordPress.org core software.

From the ​FAQ it's indicated;

The best place to report a bug is ​the GitHub issues tracker for the WordPress Desktop project, but before you report a bug there, we kindly ask that you make sure the bug is specific to the app and not the WordPress.com website itself. If it’s a bug on the WordPress.com website, please report it in ​the GitHub issues tracker for that.

I'm going to close this ticket as it's better addressed through the linked repo issue trackers in the quote above. Feel free to reopen if you feel I've incorrected understood.
