WP 5.4 cannot "add media" from Edge

Description

The latest version of WordPress 5.4 when in use with the browser Microsoft Edge 44.18362.449.0 has a bug. When clicking "add media" the "select file" button on the following screen is completely inoperative. You click and click and no file list comes up where one can normally select a file to upload. Other browsers seem to work fine.
