upgraded wordpress between the last two updates core editor doesn't work

Description

I upgraded wordpress and between the last two updates(5.4, 5.4.1) the core editor stopped being able to edit previous posts I could only make posts. Then I couldn't edit pages i referred to godaddy(was getting 520 error) and their developer installed classic editor for a fix which isn't really a fix to my problem because i want to use the current editor not the classic.
