Description (last modified by )
Hello,
I am using WordPress and I am a huge fan!! It`s a really empowering tool!
I got this link from the wordpress.com support team.
In advance: I am not a developer - so chances are that my comments are mostly off or even naiv :)
I am setting up my own website project with lots custom fields and logged in user content (Using Elementor and the Hello Theme and lots of plugins). At the moment I am trying to make my site faster:
I was wondering - the WordPress backend itself is basically a website/theme. When I work in the WP-backend everything loads and saves really fast - even with lots of dynamic (repeater) fields.
But the second I use a theme - to present everything to the outside world everything becomes significantly ... even drastically slower by comparision.
Why do themes and probably also plugins create such a huge bottle neck?
Would it be possible to implement/offer principles from the WP-backend to the "theming - and plugin world and to their developers"?
Thank you very much again for this tool!!! :)
Best
Martin
Hi there, welcome to WordPress Trac! Thanks for the ticket.
Please note that this Trac is used for enhancements and bug reporting for the WordPress core software, not for individual support questions.
Does the issue still happen with all plugins disabled and a default theme (Twenty Twenty) activated?
The performance really depends on the theme and plugins being used, there is no universal solution here, and it also doesn't look like there are any actionable items for WordPress core here at the moment.
