In addition this is a connection between the hosting company's servers and wordpress.org's API that doesn't contain any "personal information". It is still questionable if this has anything to do with user privacy. 15 15 2. Having multiple (hard-coded json, xml, html, text, etc.) files would generally be harder to maintain and use. 16 16
