Description

Wordpress version: 5.5.1–de_DE

When I try to insert a twitter blockquote in an article's html element, I get the error:

"Update failed. The response is not a valid JSON response."

This appears ONLY with the role editor. With the role author or admin it works fine.

Hi @droidspirit,

Thanks for this report, and welcome to Trac!

I am having trouble reproducing the issue you are seeing. Can you provide some more details and the exact text you are trying to paste into the HTML block?

Also, can you clarify where that markup is coming from (just to be sure, though it looks like valid and acceptable markup on first glance), and is there a reason you are not using the Twitter block to embed the tweet?

Hello @dresrosj,

oh, shame on me at all. I didn't noticed that a twitter block exists. Insert a twitter link about the twitter block works fine. Out of habit we have used a html block for that.

Regardless its curious, that the embedded twitter code about html doesn't work. I have made a video for you to show you the issue:

Best regards

Hopefully the Twitter block helps going forward!

I have tried the flow in the video for all default user roles (Contributor, Author, Administrator, and Editor), but I am still unable to reproduce the issue.

I'd suggest deactivating all plugins and trying again to see if the issue continues. If it does not, reactivate plugins one by one until you find which one is causing the problem. I know that is not always possible, though.

I am going to add the close recommendation with the worksforme resolution. But I'll also leave this open for a while in case someone else is having the same issue.
