#51671 closed feature request (duplicate)

Feature request: Make beta & RC tags available in git clones

Description

Using the Github repo or the git://develop.git.wordpress.org/ as a composer dependency is a convenient way to set up an automated test for plugins or themes.

But, those repos only hold tags for production versions, so testing against the upcoming versions is difficult. For example, finding out what commit represents the current WordPress 5.6 Beta 2 is only viable by judging the commit message (probably 8a3e34d).

Please consider adding pre-release versions as tags as well.

Hi Sergey,

Thanks for the quick reply.
The #51585 about the release repo not the source, but I'm happy to make my case over there.
