Description

Would it be possible for you, in the next release of WP to have an option for email alert the administrator -OR- all users with roles above EDITOR+, including EDITOR when new post changes status to "Pending Review" ? I've looked around for plugin, but no go.

Sounds like a candidate for a plugin; should be fairly easy to do with the 'transition_post_status' hook.

+1 for plugin probably. Useful feature for those that use "pending review" maybe, but probably not widespread use enough to stick in the core IMO.

Plus, as said, it'd be a really easy plugin.
