Description

Hello,

imho it would be massively usefull

to have a hotkey that let's users

switch between visual (rendered html)

and text (source code) view

with a touch of - two - buttons

would be great :)

Hi @canoodle2 and thanks for making the suggestion!

When the "Classic" editor was the default editor, a keyboard shortcut was already discussed on #30407. If you like, you could add a comment on that ticket.

I've seen some unintended markup created by switching between the two tabs, so I'll repeat the caution expressed about ​switching editors often.

If you're comfortable with using the Block editor, though, that has a shortcut to switch between the Visual and Code editing modes:
Ctrl (or Cmd) + Shift + Alt + M
