Update count/badge is missing for appearance

Description
Although there are themes that need an update, I don't get a badge on the appearance menu entry.
If there are updates for plugins I get a badge on the plugins menu.
I've checked the markup and it is not hidden. The markup is missing completely.

I tried to search for "badge" and "update count", but missed "update counter" and therefore didn't find the ticket. Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah, Trac search is not always great, I've found it by "site:core.trac.wordpress.org appearance counter" in Google :)
