  • Component changed from General to Export
  • Keywords 2nd-opinion added
  • Summary changed from Improve spelling to Remove capital X from "WordPress eXtended RSS"

Hi there, thanks for the ticket!

I think the purpose of the capital X in "WordPress eXtended RSS" is to explain the WXR abbreviation, so I'm not sure whether it should be removed.

My thoughts are the captial X refers to the letter used in the acronym. I don't think the case should be changed

Agree with Sergey. We don't need to remove that capital X in "WordPress eXtended RSS"

The long form of WXR has had the capital X in eXtended since it was added in [3769].

Similarly, a few glossaries—such as those from NIST and PCMag—capitalize the X in eXtensible to explain the XML abbreviation. I saw many more Google results with lowercase, but the capital letter is acceptable.
