Description
A user posted in our forums looking for a plugin notes feature as a plugin. Is it something we'd consider adding to core? In my experience helping folks at a local WordPress meetup for a few years, plenty of people would look at the plugins page and not really have much of an idea when and why something was installed, when it was last updated, where to find support, who is paying for renewals if renewals are needed, etc.
A notes field, along with any details we could pull in automatically (like when it was last updated) would be helpful. It would also be helpful to see just a short excerpt from the notes on the list page.
I requested a possible enhancement for Jetpack's management screen, but Jeremy suggested I file the request here instead :)
I run a site with several other people. We want to keep track of out plugins but the plugins page does not do it. I want to be able to add notes to the information for the plugin. I can see what it does, but I want to be able to make a note of what it does on our site, and whatever information we need to keep track of about it.
There is nowhere in the list of plugins to add notes like this.
I could write the information elsewhere, but then I would have to keep it synchronized with the list of plugins, which is supposed to be what the list of plugins does for me. So, I think I need a plugin that uses the active plugins data and allows one to add information to connect to that.
