Description
I thought it was as I had a custom excerpt but even letting WordPress create the excerpt, the continue reading button doesn't do anything.

Hi @ellemb,
I was going through this issue and found out that in 2022 theme the Continue Reading button/link itself is not available. Compared it with 2021 theme & Continue Reading is visible for 2021 theme, but in 2022 just the dots are visible. Can you confirm if you are talking about this same issue?

Hi @pooja1210!
On my site it still displays 'continue reading', but it isn't hyperlinked. Weirdly, in the code, there is an a class with the post link, but it doesn't encompass the continue reading link!
It looks like this: https://ibb.co/PZL64wM
And it's coded like this (I haven't changed any code): https://ibb.co/D4KMYFf

I am retesting this on WordPress 6.7.1, theme version 1.9.
I believe this is a problem with the usability of the excerpt block, not the theme.
Unfortunately the images were not uploaded to the ticket, and the images are now deleted from the provided links.
Looking at the homepage template, the theme does not have a "continue reading button".
It uses the excerpt block.
The excerpt block has an option to add a read more link. In this theme, this option is not enabled, the user must enable it if they want the link to show.
This is done by selecting the block on the home template, selecting the read more link option, and typing in the link text: For example "Continue reading".
After saving this change, the Continue reading link works and shows both in the editor and on the front.
Because of this, I am going to close this issue.
If someone is able to provide more information and testing instructions, the ticket can be re-opened.
