#55149 new defect (bug)

Secondary sites disappear from My Sites menu

Reported by: jose64's profile jose64 Owned by:
Milestone: Awaiting Review Priority: normal
Severity: major Version: 5.9
Component: Toolbar Keywords: reporter-feedback
Focuses: administration, multisite Cc:

Description

If you create a new multisite, only Network Admin and the Main Site appear in the My Sites dropdown, the secondary sites do not appear. To change to another Site you need to go to My Sites > Network Admin > Dashboard and then select All Sites in the Sites menu.

In old installations it works correctly, it only happens in new installations.

In my findings with WP 5.9, while creating site input field Admin Email if you put your current login user email address it is correctly showing new site in a My Sites list.

  • Keywords reporter-feedback added; needs-patch removed

@jose64 Was the problem related to your network's sites having a different admin email than yours (and your user account was not added to the individual sites)?

I noted that #57453 may be related to this, but then I failed to mention that ticket here.
