Hello core team,
since the URI scheme "geo" is becoming increasingly relevant, especially for mobile applications, I would like to suggest including it in the WordPress core.

Could you clarify where you're expecting support for this? Do you see this supported in the editor when adding links? Or just allowed within the underlying functions and APIs, such as [wp_allowed_protocols()] (source)?
I was also trying to find signs of
geo:being used by applications or websites, but I haven't been able to find any. Clickinggeo:links on my iPhone also resulted in an error. I don't believe that wide spread adoption is a requirement for adding this, but it does help.
