Description

Hello, when checking for accessibility, there's an error for the category block, saying the links in the list have a title attribute. Will this be changed, or is it addressed elsewhere? I couldn't find anything and since we are building a theme that is as accessible as possible, I would like to get rid of the title attribute here.

Are you talking about the category widget block? If so, I'm not seeing a title attribute on links in that block.

1) Can you confirm that this occurs with a plain installation of WordPress with no plugins and a default theme?

2) Can you verify the specific block and context you're finding this with?

Yes the category widget block. I deactivated all the plugins, still the same result, there is a title attribut. I will attach two screenshots.

I'm using a custom theme, which one would be a good default theme that has the new widget view?

By the way, the title attribute is not added when you use the block in a post for example.
It is only there if you add the block via Design - Widgets to the sidebar.

Thanks for the follow up! This issue is already fixed for WordPress 6.1 in r53392.

See #24766 for the whole thread; this is specific to cases where there's a description field for the taxonomy term.
