get_pages lack of performance

Description

Hello, i think that sometimes when using get_pages and the result that must be displayed is big enough, this function might lead to crash the page when executing the query, so setting a default number instead of an empty string as value for 'number' key is way more better and mandatory in some cases like we mentioned above to avoid page crash

@moudi87 When Beta 1 come tomorrow (27th of June), can you test again? There has been lots of changes in WP 6.3 to get_pages.
