Image caption problem

Reported by: lrech's profile lrech Owned by:
Milestone: Priority: normal
Severity: normal Version: 6.1.1
Component: Media Keywords:
Focuses: Cc:

Description

When I upload an image to the library, set a caption and insert it on a post/page, this caption is included on the text body.

If I edit this image on the post/page, the text previously entered is not shown in the caption field. At this moment, if I include a text in the caption field, it will be shown correctly in the image. This, otherwise, will not affect the image caption on the library.

It appears to be stored in different fields on the database.

This started on version 6.1.1. Tested on version 6.0.3, not happening there.

Hi and welcome to WordPress Core Trac!

This sounds like the same idea as #47097. The captions are not stored unless you choose the Media Library option and edit caption text within the library.
